Maui Brick Camps Policies & Parent Agreement

At Maui Brick Camps, our goal is to provide a fun, creative, safe, and welcoming environment where kids can build, explore, problem-solve, work with others, and grow in confidence through hands-on brick-building activities.

Please review the policies below before completing registration. By submitting a registration form, the parent or guardian confirms that they have read, understand, and agree to the following camp policies.

Registration & Payment

Registration is required before a child may attend Maui Brick Camps. Space is limited each week to help keep the camp experience organized, safe, and enjoyable for all participants.

Registration is not considered complete until the required form has been submitted and payment has been received or confirmed. Because camp spots are limited, registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Parents and guardians are responsible for providing accurate information during registration, including the child’s name, age, emergency contact information, authorized pickup adults, allergy information, medical needs, and any important behavioral or support information that may help staff provide a positive experience.

If any information changes after registration, parents should notify Maui Brick Camps as soon as possible.

Maui Brick Camps are scheduled as weekly camps and may include different themes, challenges, and activities each week.

Typical Camp Schedule:
Monday through Friday
8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Location:
Kihei Elementary School
250 E Lipoa St
Kihei, HI 96753

Camp dates, times, and locations may vary depending on the specific session, facility availability, and program schedule. Parents should review the current registration page for the most accurate camp details.

Payment is required to reserve a camp spot unless other arrangements have been made directly with Maui Brick Camps.

Because space is limited, unpaid registrations may not guarantee a spot. If payment is not received within the requested timeframe, the spot may be released to another family.

Parents are responsible for reviewing the camp price, weekly session dates, sibling discount details, and any payment instructions before submitting registration.

Sibling discounts may be available for families registering more than one child for the same camp week.

Sibling discount details may vary depending on the session. If a sibling discount is offered, it will be listed on the registration page or provided during the registration process.

Sibling discounts cannot always be applied retroactively after payment has been completed, so parents should review the registration instructions carefully before submitting payment.

Cancellations & Schedule Changes

Because Maui Brick Camps have limited spaces and require advance planning, cancellations must be handled carefully.

If a parent needs to cancel a registration, they should contact Maui Brick Camps as soon as possible. Refunds, partial refunds, or credits may depend on how far in advance the cancellation is made and whether the camp spot can be filled by another student.

Suggested policy language you can customize:

  • Cancellations made 14 or more days before camp begins may receive a refund minus any processing fees.
  • Cancellations made 7–13 days before camp begins may be eligible for a partial refund or credit, depending on availability and circumstances.
  • Cancellations made less than 7 days before camp begins may not be refundable unless the spot can be filled.
  • Missed days, late arrivals, early pickups, or voluntary absences are generally not refundable.

Maui Brick Camps reserves the right to review special circumstances on a case-by-case basis.

Maui Brick Camps may adjust activities, themes, schedules, staffing, materials, or group structures as needed.

While each camp may have a planned theme, activities may change based on camper interest, group needs, available materials, safety considerations, or time.

The goal is always to provide a creative, engaging, and positive experience.

Maui Brick Camps reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a camp session due to low enrollment, facility issues, emergency situations, illness, weather-related concerns, staffing needs, or other unexpected circumstances.

If Maui Brick Camps cancels a session, families will be notified as soon as possible. Parents may be offered a refund, credit, or option to transfer to another available camp week when possible.

Drop-Off, Pickup & Safety

Parents and guardians are responsible for dropping off campers during the designated drop-off time.

Campers should not be dropped off early unless early drop-off has been approved in advance. Staff may not be available to supervise children before the official drop-off time.

At drop-off, parents may be asked to sign in their child, confirm emergency contact information, and provide any important updates for the day.

To help camp begin smoothly, please make sure your child arrives on time, has used the restroom if needed, and is ready to participate.

Campers must be picked up at the designated pickup time.

Only parents, guardians, or adults listed as authorized pickup persons may pick up a camper. Maui Brick Camps may request identification before releasing a child to an adult.

Parents should notify camp staff in advance if someone different will be picking up their child. Children will not be released to unauthorized individuals.

Late pickups can create staffing and supervision challenges. If a parent or guardian is running late, they should contact Maui Brick Camps as soon as possible.

Suggested late pickup policy you can customize:

A late pickup fee may be charged if a child is picked up more than 10 minutes after the scheduled end time.

Parents and guardians must list all adults who are authorized to pick up their child from camp.

Maui Brick Camps will not release a child to someone who is not listed as an authorized pickup adult unless written permission has been provided by the parent or guardian.

For safety reasons, staff may ask for a photo ID at pickup, especially if the adult is unfamiliar to camp staff.

Parents and guardians must provide accurate emergency contact information during registration.

In the event of an illness, injury, behavior concern, emergency, or other important situation, Maui Brick Camps will attempt to contact the parent or guardian using the information provided.

If the parent or guardian cannot be reached, Maui Brick Camps may contact the listed emergency contacts.

Parents are responsible for being reachable during camp hours.

Maui Brick Camps makes reasonable efforts to provide a safe and supervised environment. However, parents understand that hands-on activities, group games, building challenges, small pieces, movement activities, and creative projects may involve normal risks.

In the event of a minor injury, staff may provide basic first aid, such as a bandage or ice pack.

In the event of a serious injury or emergency, Maui Brick Camps may contact emergency services and notify the parent or guardian as soon as possible.

By registering, parents authorize Maui Brick Camps staff to seek emergency medical assistance for their child if necessary.

Camper Expectations

Behavior Expectations

Maui Brick Camps is designed to be a positive, creative, and respectful environment for all campers.

Campers are expected to:

  • Follow directions from camp staff
  • Treat other campers with kindness and respect
  • Use building materials safely and appropriately
  • Keep hands, feet, and objects to themselves
  • Stay in designated camp areas
  • Use respectful language
  • Participate in activities without disrupting others
  • Help clean up materials when asked

Campers do not need to be perfect. We understand that kids are learning, growing, and developing social skills. Staff will use reminders, redirection, encouragement, and reasonable support to help campers be successful.

However, unsafe or repeated disruptive behavior may require parent contact.

If a camper’s behavior becomes unsafe, highly disruptive, or prevents other campers from participating, staff may contact the parent or guardian.

Examples may include:

  • Hitting, kicking, pushing, or hurting others
  • Throwing bricks or materials
  • Leaving the supervised area without permission
  • Repeated refusal to follow safety directions
  • Damaging property or materials intentionally
  • Bullying, teasing, or threatening others
  • Using inappropriate or harmful language
  • Behavior that creates a safety concern for the child, other campers, or staff

Maui Brick Camps will make reasonable efforts to support positive behavior. However, if a child cannot participate safely in the camp environment, the parent or guardian may be asked to pick up the child early.

In some cases, a child may not be able to continue attending camp if safety concerns continue.

Refunds are not guaranteed if a child is removed from camp due to unsafe or repeated disruptive behavior.

Maui Brick Camps welcomes children with different strengths, interests, personalities, and learning styles.

Parents are encouraged to share any information that may help their child have a positive camp experience. This may include sensory sensitivities, communication needs, attention challenges, anxiety, social concerns, medical needs, allergies, or behavior supports that are helpful at school or home.

Maui Brick Camps is a recreational camp program and may not be able to provide one-to-one support, specialized therapy, medical care, or intensive behavioral support. If a child requires a high level of individual supervision or support, parents should contact Maui Brick Camps before registering to discuss whether the camp setting is appropriate.

The goal is to create a safe and positive experience for all campers.

Campers are expected to respect the camp location, classrooms, tables, chairs, restrooms, playground areas if used, and all shared spaces.

Campers should remain in designated areas and follow staff directions when moving through the facility.

Any intentional damage to the facility, materials, or property may result in parent contact and possible responsibility for repair or replacement costs.

Health, Food & Personal Items

To help keep campers and staff healthy, children should not attend camp if they are sick.

Please keep your child home if they have symptoms such as:

  • Fever
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Persistent cough
  • Severe sore throat
  • Contagious rash
  • Pink eye or other contagious condition
  • Any illness that would prevent them from comfortably participating

If a child becomes sick during camp, the parent or guardian will be contacted and may be asked to pick up the child early.

Parents should notify Maui Brick Camps if their child has a contagious illness that may affect other campers.

Parents and guardians are responsible for providing accurate allergy and medical information during registration.

Please list any food allergies, environmental allergies, medical conditions, medication needs, or other health information that camp staff should know.

Maui Brick Camps will make reasonable efforts to support camper safety, but parents should understand that camp activities may take place in shared spaces and complete allergen-free environments cannot always be guaranteed.

If a child has a serious allergy or medical condition, parents should contact Maui Brick Camps before camp begins to discuss safety planning.

Maui Brick Camps staff may not be able to administer medication unless specific arrangements have been made in advance.

If your child requires medication during camp hours, please contact Maui Brick Camps before the first day of camp to discuss whether this can be safely accommodated.

Parents should not send medication with a child without first communicating directly with camp staff.

Emergency medications, such as an inhaler or EpiPen, should be clearly labeled and discussed with staff before camp begins.

Campers should bring a snack and water bottle each day unless otherwise stated.

Please send snacks that your child can open and eat independently. Clearly label your child’s water bottle and any food containers.

Maui Brick Camps may ask families to avoid certain foods if there are allergy concerns in the group.

Campers are expected not to share food unless approved by staff.

Campers should avoid bringing valuable personal items to camp.

Maui Brick Camps is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings.

Items such as tablets, phones, video games, trading cards, expensive toys, or personal LEGO collections should generally stay at home unless specifically requested for a camp activity.

If personal items become distracting or create conflict, staff may ask the camper to put them away until pickup.

Maui Brick Camps is not responsible for lost or misplaced items.

Parents are encouraged to label water bottles, lunch bags, jackets, backpacks, and other belongings.

Any found items will be held during the camp week when possible. Unclaimed items may be donated or discarded after a reasonable period.

Camp Materials & Media

Maui Brick Camps provides building materials for camp activities.

Campers are expected to use materials respectfully and return pieces to the correct areas when asked. Camp materials are shared and should not be taken home unless the activity specifically includes a take-home build.

Some activities may include small pieces, moving parts, wheels, ramps, motors, or collaborative builds. Campers are expected to use all materials safely and appropriately.

Intentional damage, misuse, or taking camp materials without permission may result in parent contact.

Some camp activities may include take-home builds, mini builds, or projects campers are allowed to keep.

Not every project will be taken home. Some builds may be temporary, collaborative, part of a group challenge, or used for display during the week.

Parents and campers should understand that many camp activities focus on the creative process, teamwork, problem-solving, and hands-on exploration rather than keeping every completed build.

Maui Brick Camps emphasizes hands-on creativity, imagination, building, and real-world problem-solving.

While some camps may include simple motors, mechanical elements, or design challenges, the primary focus is on screen-free, hands-on learning and creative play.

Campers are encouraged to use their imagination, work with others, try new ideas, and build confidence through active participation.

Personal electronic devices should generally remain at home or in a backpack unless needed for parent communication or approved by staff.

Maui Brick Camps may take photos or videos during camp for documentation, memories, website content, social media, flyers, or promotional materials.

Parents may choose whether their child is allowed to appear in photos or videos used for marketing or public sharing.

Suggested options for your registration form:

  • Yes, I give permission for my child to be photographed or recorded for Maui Brick Camps / Brick Artistry promotional use.
  • No, I do not give permission for my child to be photographed or recorded for promotional use.

Even if photo permission is not granted, Maui Brick Camps may still take photos of projects, builds, hands, materials, or group displays without identifying the child.

Parents should notify Maui Brick Camps in writing if they do not want their child included in public photos or videos.
